When cleaning affected areas, follow all health and saftey guidance as listed above, and lightly mist ash with water before gathering it to help prevent particles from becoming airborne Avoid vacuuming ash unless you are using a HEPA-filter vacuum designed to capture fine particles. After cleanup, wash exposed skin thoroughly and launder clothes separately from other household items. To ensure safe disposal, all ash and debris should be doubled-bagged and kept separate from regular household trash. Residents can arrange debris pickup and receive additional cleanup guidance by calling the local Community Cleanup Helpline at (209) 751-1888, open Monday to Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
