COMMUNITY RISK REDUCTION

NEW CONSTRUCTION

The South San Joaquin County Fire Authority’s Community Risk Reduction Division issues permits for all new construction in the Tracy Rural Fire Protection District. All new construction permitted through the Fire Authority is reviewed and inspected by the Community Risk Reduction Division to ensure proposed construction projects, building improvements, remodels, and additions to existing structures meet applicable fire and life-safety requirements per the adopted California Fire Code and County Ordinances. All new installations and all modifications to fire protection and life safety systems are reviewed and inspected by the Community Risk Reduction Division to ensure that the installation or modifications meet applicable fire and life-safety codes and standards.

South San Joaquin County Fire Authority requires construction plans and documents to be submitted in electronic format for all projects.

OPERATIONAL FIRE PERMITS

The Community Risk Reduction Division conducts annual inspections of State-mandated occupancies and operational fire code permits listed in Chapter 1 of the California Fire Code throughout the Tracy Rural Fire Protection District.
